Yesterday morning, got up early. The plan was to make coffee and breakfast and then enjoy it while reading the paper. The thing I didn’t count on was it being a bit chilly. A robe would have been ideal for me - put it on over my pajamas and enjoy the morning. But alas, I do not have one.

Above is just one scenario when having a soft luxurious robe would save the day. I could come up with hundreds more scenarios, but I am sure you have thought of an instance from your own life.

We carry two lines of robes: waffle weave and minke.

Christy’s Waffle Weave Robes are 100% cotton and available in three colors: white, black, and ivory. This is a fantastic basic robe; ideal to send your kids off to college in and to pack on trips. It is lightweight and soft.

Karen Luu’s Minke Robe is made from ultra soft double sided velour. Velour is a fabric similar to velvet, with a thick soft nap which makes the fabric luxurious to the touch. Unlike velvet, however, velour is a knit, which changes the properties of the fabric rather dramatically. There are no words to explain how incredible these robes feel - honestly. This line is available in 5 different styles and 24 colors.

Towels are all around us in a variety of sizes and colors and made from various things. Here is the breakdown of the towels that we have on our site. All of the towels we currently carry are made by Christy, who has a tradition of excellence.

Care of each of these lines is detailed here:

Laundering- Wash similar colors together with soft water and detergent but not fabric softeners, which contain silicons that will cause the towels to repel water. Deep colors should be washed separately. Avoid detergents that contain brighteners and whiteners as these will affect the color of your towels. Avoid contact with bleach and bleach-related products. These will remove the color from your towels permanently. These can be present in facial cleansers, cosmetics, skin treatments, and bathroom cleaners.

Drying- Tumble drying on a medium heat will give towels the softest finish.

Opera Jacquard line of towels allows you to add a designer touch to your bathroom. Made from 100% cotton, these towels feature a traditional damask pattern in bright, modern colors. The damask pattern is on the bath towel and the hand towel. Coordinating solid color wash clothes complete the line.

Zero-twist fabric can only be constructed from longer staple cotton yarn. The lower the amount of twist in a yarn, the more plush a towel will be. These soft and plush fibers create a fluffy towel with a suede-like texture and excellent absorbency. These towels feature a triple woven border and refined end hems.

Organic Towels are made from 100% certified organic cotton. This is the choice for those who appreciate nature’s best. Christy cultivates, harvests, and processes the cotton to ensure it is free of pesticides, herbicides, and other harmful chemicals. To ensure the purity of this line, the manufacturing process is separated to further avoid contaminations. It has earned the third-party Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certification by the Institute for Market-ecology (IMO). The result is a towel that is both skin-friendly and earth friendly.

This line has a bath sheet, oversized bath towel, hand towel, and wash cloth. Organic Towels are available in 10 colors: white, cream, oatmeal, wheat, sage, mist blue, ocean blue, desert sand, mulberry, and deep taupe.

Renaissance Towels are made from the finest Egyptian combed cotton. Egyptian cotton is highly absorbent and luxuriously soft. And it only gets softer after repeated washings. Combed cotton involves a step that is taken to make the finished product softer and stronger because the shorter and breakable fibers have been removed. In addition, the straightened fibers lie together more tightly after combing, making combed cotton thread less likely to fray and unravel. These towels have a unique European woven border.

Hotel Towels  are a thick, lush indulgence. These towels are made from heavyweight, 100% two-ply Turkish cotton. Turkish Cotton is a luxurious long-staple fiber. Known for its strength and natural shine, Turkish cotton is a worthy competitor to Egyptian cotton. It is also famous for its durability and softness. Initially, Turkish cotton will not be as absorbent; but after several washings, it is. This is due to the long-term fiber integrity that Turkish cotton has – it will maintain its resiliency over time.

Christy was established in 1850 when Henry Christy visited the Sultan Palace in Constantinople. He found a handmade, loop pile fabric which he took back to England for his brother Richard to analyze. His brother invented a machine to reproduce the terry material on a large scale. The first Christy towels were shown at the Great Exhibition of 1851. Queen Victoria liked the towels so much that she ordered more. Since that time, the Christy name has meant quality.
